You were on one of my favorite songs of all time: Diary of a Madman. Can you tell the fans what was it like to put together this song?

Rza told me he wanted me to come to the studio and record on the Gravediggaz project. I went that evening nervous as hell because this was "MY SHOT", The moment i've waited for to make my dream come true. When I got there, RZA was at the control board and I said let me hear a beat. He put on the instrumental to what the world knows now as "Diary Of A Madman" I looked at the speaker, then looked at him and said get me a piece of paper. Mr. Sime gave me a piece of paper, and i wrote my verse in 3 minutes, Rza called all the Gravediggaz in the room to write. When he seen i was done real quick he said, let me hear what you got God. I stood up and spit my verse and everybody threw their rhyme in the garbage, and rza told me to lay that verse down first, after that everyone took a copy of my verse and went home.

How would you say your style has changed from when 6 Feet Deep cd was released, till now?

My style has always been Street/Spiritual from day one, I just didn't get to show the fans everything that baz has to offer yet. I still have the horror hood tales, the crime sagas and the militant profile Death Be The Penalty styles, Just the next level now. More graphic,more hood,more spiritual.

I received an email that DJ Dax passed away and a cd was released with his lost tracks called: "Nato Alliance: The Lost Tapes". I know you worked with UNDC and Dj Dax and he did a did with you called: Passion Of The Hood Christ DVD Vol. 1 . What was it like working with him? Are there plans to ever release Volume2 DVD?

I never met Dax in person, but he loved and supported my work so i had him do the cd and dvd cover for "The Passion Of The Hood Christ", in exchange i gave him a verse and hook for his project. I have dvd's worth of footage for many volumes to come, I'm looking for a new editor to work with me on the next one. If it's true R.I.P. to DJ DAX, he was a real dude with me. My condolences to his family and the whole UNDC.

You have toured the world.. What are some of your favorite places and how would you compare fans around the world to USA hip-hop fans?

BRAZIL!!!! To this day, that was my favorite place i've ever been (no disrespect to all the other places i've been). I love to travel, especially doing what i love. All the fans who've ever seen my show know i love Banging Out On Stage!!! All in the crowd with jewelry and all. The fans in the U.S. show love if you go hard, most of the time the whole crowd are artists themselves and they're very judgemental, but no one can deny BANGING HIP HOP ON A PROFFESIONAL LEVEL! As for the rest of the world, they show extra love and appreciation for the music more than the U.S., because in the U.S. most of the time if your record isn't on the radio or MTV or if you're not affiliated with a major team, they barely give you a chance, The rest of the world doesn't have to know your songs or don't care who you're affiliated with, If It's Fiyah,It's Fiyah!! Rotterdam,Paris,Stuggy Town,Romania Switzerland,Sweden etc... are where i had some of my best memories. I kno i'm leaving some places out, but i gotchall!!!!

I don't know where to even begin how many collabos you did, but is there an artist or a group you really want to do a song with?

Yes Sir! I've collabed with the best artists in every country around the world, Peace to all my foreign family members. I would love to collab with Lauryn Hill, Bone Thugs, and Scarface because we see the world thru the same eyes.

What is your opinion on 8 Diagrams album?
|
I didn't hear 8 diagrams. The feedback I was hearing made me not want to. I want to uphold the LEGENDARY DAYS and the way I love WUTANG.

What are your upcoming projects?
|
JULY 8th "WELCOME TO RED HOOK HOUSES" T.H.U.G. ANGELZ ON BABYGRANDE!! WINGZ UP! Then the T.H.U.G. ANGELZ 2nd LP. Then The Shabazz OFFICIAL SOLO DEBUT!!!! Yall in trouble trust me! Me and Razah and playing!! The Heaven Razah album coming too. I got "The Vault" (Hidden Safiyahz) and "The Becoming Of The Disciple(94 B.C.-00A.B) available online now!!!! Yea me and DJ EXTREMIDIZ Are working on the 2nd LP as we speak, HOLD TIGHT!!!

What advice do you have for starting artists?
|
The way to be different from every other artist in the world is JUST BE YOUSELF!!! We're all different by nature!! Never stop believing in yourself and your dream, even after you see this business is not what you think it is. Don't let poverty stop your creativity, let it inspire it!!

How did you get involved with rapping and hip-hop?

I GOT INVOLVED WITH HIP HOP FROM HEARING MY POPS PLAYING OLD AL GREEN AND JAMES BROWN SONGS AND GROWING UP WATCHING MY BROTHER TRAY-BAG AND COUSIN DJ VANDY C BACK IN THE DAYS DO IT..

What kind of process do you go through before you write a song?

BEFORE I WRITE A SONG IT TAKES A LOT OF STUDYING AND RESEARCH AND PAIN AND STRUGGLE IN MY EVERYDAY LIFE TO MAKE ME WANT TO WRITE OR JUST THAT RIGHT BEAT CAN OPEN UP A DOOR WHERE I JUST CANT STOP WRITING SOMETIMES..

Do you think anyone, with practice can become rapper? Or some people just possess this gift?
