The UNDC presents "Closed Captioned"

After several distribution issues and delays on release with the album UNDC have chosen to do the realest thing they could think of for the people and GIVE IT AWAY. That's right, The UNDC are offering their album "Closed Captioned" as an exclusive free download at www.Jiveturkeyproductions.com

Q: How was the UNDC group formed... who are the members?

(dj dax): We formed this in August of 2005 when Epic was visiting me up in NH from NY. I had just started working with Wize and we had relinked with ET who came over one night and did an all night freestyle session with us. Epic and I was talking about forming it all into a new crew but we didn't want to reuse the name Force 1 (which was the crew ET, Epic and I had back in the Day). Epic Came up with the UN cause we had several cultures represented since Epic and I are Italian, Wize is Arabic and ET is Black. It became UNDC shortly after cause we were calling it The U-N Delegations cause we looked at our music as our statements at society, like delegations in the General Assembly. So we became The U-N Delegations Crew (UNDC).

Q: You guys are from New Hampshire.... what's hip-hop scene like in New Hampshire?

(dj dax): That's a common mistake. I am the only one from NH. Epic is from New York (Long Island) and ET & Wize are both from Boston. As for the Hip Hop scene in NH its a little rough. Manchester and Nashua have very little venues to have live shows at. These towns also are plagued by the dumb pop shit. The seacoast area is good and have better venues and a good scene of people since its near UNH. I did a residency spinning at a club over there and loved the crowds. They also support better music over in the seacoast, not just the same old crap ya would hear on any pop hip hop station. As for artists there are def some people with Talent doing they thing in NH and then like anywhere else there are also some herbs just fucking shit up.

Q: Which Wu members have you worked with and plan to work with? What was it like working with them?

(dj dax):We have worked with Shabazz The Disciple, Killah Priest and The Beggaz. I just did a mixtape with The Beggaz which is available for free download on their site www.oohwebpages.com . That was a dope project that I had a lot of fun with. They are some seriously talented MCs with some great material. The UNDC has recorded tracks with Killah Priest and Shabazz the Disciple. Them dudes are beasts in the lab. Both these dudes are heads we have always looked up to, they have influenced us greatly. Epic fav MC ever is Priest and it was a sick experience for him to be able to do a track with him. I also directed and produced a DVD for Shabazz called "The Passion of The Hood Christ Vol 1: 40 Lashes". That was a great project to be involved with. Shabazz is a deep dude who has been through a lot. I also designed Shabazz's official website www.Shabazzthedisciple.biz . I love working with Baz cause he is very intense and passionate with his work.

Q: (to Dax) How did you get started with hip-hop music?

(dj dax): I started making music when I was a kid and always was influenced by Hip-Hop. I started writing rhymes and Djing way back in High School (91 - 95) and started recording shit around then too.

Q: (to Dax) Who are your musical influences

(dax):The most influential musical influences in my life are as follows. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Parliment and Earth, Wind & Fire, The Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Wu-Tang Clan, Ice-T, Rage Against The Machine, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Cypress Hill, Tool and Rush.

Q: (to Dax) Out of 9 generals...who is your favorite and why?

(dj dax):For rapping I have to say Deck. I love his lyrics and delivery. His verse on "Triumph" is one of my favorite verses in Hip Hop history. GZA is also a fav. His voice is ill and his content is deep. But all around def RZA. RZA is the total package in hip hop. He Raps, he produces (one of best in history) and he is a businessman of uncanny proportions. I def take a lot of influence from what RZA has accomplished in his career

Q: (to Epic Visions) You have very deep lyrics with lots of meaning, several songs I heard involve the topic of cemeteries and mausoleums.... is there a particular reason you choose this topic in your lyrics?

(Epic Visions): First off thank you for taking notice, I really appreciate it. The reason I tend to cling to morbid or darkideas is because of the comparison I see every day with the dead and living, which tend to be the opposite. We are dying here. We live amongst the walking dead. Our souls are dead, our minds are dead, which makes it easy for me to relate with those topics.

Q: (to Epic Visions) What creative process do you go through to come up with such amazing lyrics?

(Epic Visions): Amazing - I'm not so sure about but thank you. I zone out and put myself in the inferno of where we live. The lyrics are fueled by a lonely repressive and depressive society.

Q: What projects are in the horizon for UNDC?

(Wize): We just finished a mix tape called "Artificial Contact: Confessions of a Taxi Driver on a Motorcycle." People can download it off our myspace site or our website for free, all 14 tracks. Right now we are working on another mix tape which we will release in the immediate future.

(Dax): Yeah also we have another Mixtape that is available for free download "A Statement from Epic Visions". Cop That at www.Epicvisions.biz The official Wize mixtape is coming soon and will be available for free download as well. It features many never before released tracks.

Q: If there were no barriers and you could work with any hip-hop group/ artists today..who would you like to do a song with?

(Wize):I would work with Pharoahe Monch because I've looked up to him since he dropped his first O.K. album in 91. His style is like no other and he has dropped many classics in my eyes.

(Dax) - Redman and A.G.

Q: Any plans for videos for UNDC for songs for new album?

(Wize): We will release a video for the song "Forewarned". We all feel that song is one of our rawest and it definetely gives people that old school underground feel. Thats one of the initial responses we want from our audience.

(Dax): I would also like to do videos for "Constant Dreams" and "Treachery"
